The holy is here.

According to Father Richard Rohr, “The great task of religion is to keep you fully awake, alert, and conscious. Then you will know whatever it is that you need to know. When you are present, you will know the Presence. It is that simple and that hard. Too much religion has encouraged you to be unconscious, but God respects you too much for that.”

On Sunday, we spent some time revisiting a moment of deep Presence that Moses experienced right in the middle of the messiness of his life. What he heard and saw shaped not only his personal trajectory but would pave the way toward healing & liberation for an entire community.

We cannot control or predict how the Holy will come to us. Sometimes it looks & feels like Fire and other times like a Deep Knowing that wells up from within. We also can’t predict what it will nudge us to know or be or do. So the question becomes: how will we notice when it happens?

And what is helping you to pay attention?
