Church in the Wild

  • UNF Trails 1 UNF Drive Jacksonville, FL, 32224 United States (map)

Each month (usually the 4th Sundays), we intentionally set aside time to connect with God & one another through nature. We have explored trails, parks & beaches, hosted farm work days, and even kayaked together. Our April Church in the Wild will take place at the UNF Trails. We will begin gathering at 10 a.m. and start our time together at 10:30 am. Meet us at the picnic tables near the Red Maple Boardwalk sign. The area is wheelchair accessible. Parking and trail info is located beside Building 52 (Parking Services).

Directions:

From I-295: Exit UNF Drive. Turn right into the driveway of Parking Lot 100 just before Eco Road. You'll see canoes and the Parking Service building (#52). If missing that driveway, turn right onto Eco Road and take the first right into Parking Lot 100. Parking is free on the weekends. Restrooms are located in the parking lot near the Parking Service building. We will meet at the Red Maple Boardwalk area. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED. (Of note, if using GPS, the trails are in a different location than the UNF Nature Trails Building further down UNF Drive).

From Kernan: turn onto Alumni Drive. Turn left on University of North Florida Dr S. Turn left into Parking Lot 100 just before UNF Drive.

**If this is your first CITW gathering, welcome! During most CITW gatherings, we begin with some kind of centering readings, then are sent into nature to listen. We bring back a "sermon from the wild" (what did we hear/see/notice? what was nature inviting us to know/be/do?) and return for a time of sharing. Here is a sample gathering guide.
